The Federal Council has defined the annual invoice as the standard. To ensure that invoicing is evenly distributed throughout the calendar year, invoices are issued in stages. A partial‑billing system was used, which applied to the majority of Swiss households. Your household was randomly assigned to one of twelve billing groups. If you belong to the first group, you will receive an annual invoice of 335 francs. If you are part of the second group, you will receive the annual invoice in February. The third group receives it in March, and so on. This model is repeated throughout the entire year.

Apart from the standard annual invoice, you can also pay the fee via quarterly invoices.i

A QR code is provided to you above the payment section on your invoice. You can adjust your personal settings via this code.

Among other things, you can use the QR code to switch from annual invoicing to quarterly invoicing quickly and easily. The QR code is valid for 60 days from the invoice date.
 

Activating the QR code (scan QR code) on the invoice takes you to the input screen. Annual invoicing can be switched to quarterly invoicing in the marked area.

If you notice any errors in your personal details, address information and/or household composition on your fee invoice, we kindly ask you to contact the residents' registration office (Einwohnerkontrolle) of your municipality directly.

Of course, you are still welcome to report your correction requests to the collection office. In this case, the collection office will forward your response to the responsible residents' registration office the following month for their information. In carrying out its mandate, SERAFE AG uses exclusively the data provided to it on a monthly basis by the residents' registration services of the municipalities and cantons. The data sovereignty over the data relevant to the collection of the fee rests, and shall continue to rest, with the residents' registers.
