The collection of the radio and television fee is regulated by the Federal Act on Radio and Television (RTVA; SR 784.40). The details are set out in the Radio and Television Ordinance (RTVO; SR 784.401).

The Swiss collection agency for the radio and television fee also complies with the following legal principles, among others, when exercising its mandate:

Data protection

We protect your data. Data protection is our highest priority when collecting the household fee.
We are a federal body under the Data Protection Act, employ our own company Data Protection officer and process data from councils and cantons in accordance with the law and exclusively for the purpose of charging and collecting the household fee.
